Here are some facts about Donkey Kong…

Donkey Kong and Mario first appeared in the popular 1981 Nintendo video game Donkey Kong.

Donkey Kong has a son called Donkey Kong Jr.

The game designer thought that donkey meant stupid in English, and Donkey Kong would mean stupid ape to an American audience.

When the game designer suggested the name Donkey Kong to Nintendo he was laughed at but the name stuck.

Donkey Kong appears in more recent games as the elderly Cranky Kong.

Princess Daisy is the princess of Sarasaland.

Daisy is best friends with Princess Peach.

Daisy’s first appearance was in 1989 in Super Mario Land.

Daisy is in a romantic relationship with Luigi.

In Mario Kart Wii there are statues on the Daisy Circuit course showing Princess Daisy dancing with Luigi.

She appears in both Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii as an unlockable character.

Baby Daisy debuted in Mario Kart Wii and appears in Mario Super Sluggers.

Daisy appeared as a character in the 1993 Super Mario Bros film and was played by Samantha Mathis.

Luigi is Mario’s younger brother.

Luigi is sometimes scared of King Boo.

Sometimes Luigi can be cowardly but he can also be really brave at times.

In Super Paper Mario she has an alter ego called the Shadow Queen.

She has also been known as Princess Toadstool.

He is Nintendo’s mascot and quite possibly the most iconic video game character of all time.

Mario has made apperances in many video games over the years. He is most famous for platform games like Super Mario Bros but also appears in other game genres such as Super Mario Kart (a racing game) and Super Smash Bros (a fighting game).

Mario lives in the Mushroom Kingdom where he is considered a hero. His arch enemy is King Bowser who is always trying to kidnap Princess Peach.

Mario is a rather short and is an italian plumber.

Mario was originally created by a game designer named Shigeru Miyamoto.

Mario has a younger brother called Luigi.

Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D platform game for the Nintendo Wii. It was released in 2007.

It is actually the third 3D platform game in the Mario series. The first was Super Mario 64 and the second was Super Mario Sunshine.

The game is one of my favorites and follows Mario through space to save Princess Peach from his enemy Bowser.

The many levels are in the form of galaxies filled with planets and worlds and it is really a lot of fun to play!

This is the cover of Super Mario Bros 3…

It was the 5th game released in the Super Mario game series. It was originally released for the Famicom in Japan (1988) and the NES in America (1990) and Europe (1991).

The game was later updated with better graphics and included as part of the Super Mario All Stars collection for the SNES.

It has also been released for the Game Boy Advance and more recently the NES version has been re-released for the Wii Virtual Console.

Many people consider Super Mario Bros 3 to be the best of the Super Mario series.
